Hello, I am Faith Sonnia Arude and your hair expert. As a teenager, I left my home country of Nigeria and came to Germany, but I never forgot my family's traditions of working with natural herbs. I inherited my passion for herbs from my father, who taught me to appreciate them and work with them. Through him, I learned to use natural herbs for my hair, promote growth, and make it more resilient.

In my childhood and teenage years, I was mocked and bullied because of my sparse, unhealthy-looking hair texture, which drove me straight into the arms of chemicals that promised improvement. But nothing got better - quite the opposite. When I moved to Germany, it became even harder to find natural hair products that could help me care for my hair. Most of the available products were also filled with unhealthy chemicals that damaged my hair even more. The effects of these low-quality products kept getting worse, and I began to develop feelings of inferiority. I loved nothing about myself, from my high forehead and my skin to my entire appearance. I lost my self-confidence as a woman, as a human being, as the person I was.

That was how my journey began - back to myself, to my faith, and to my decision to do something about this suffering - for myself and for others! So in July 2015, I decided to stop using relaxers. (The chemicals that make hair soft, but destroy its structure and weaken the hair follicles and strands.) So I made a radical cut - I wanted a fresh start - I cut off my hair!

A year later, in 2016, I had succeeded in leaving chemicals behind and beginning my natural hair journey. On this journey, I realized that many other people also struggle to retain hair length, fight breakage, and are constantly searching for the right products for their hair type to get rid of dry, itchy scalps and dandruff.

That is how my personal search for natural ingredients began, catapulting me directly into the hair care cosmetics and product industry. After many attempts and failures, ups and downs, I discovered the key formula that could truly help. Over time, I sharedsome of my DIY recipes and homemade products with my family and friends. Through word of mouth, my products spread more and more among friends, acquaintances, and the community. They started exchanging experiences, telling each other and me how happy they were with the effects of the products. That is how OTJ Naturals was born.

I realized that this journey, my journey, was worth taking - and that it was good to take it. That is why I decided to take all hair types with me on my journey and not limit myself only to Afro hair. I chose to work even harder to develop a formula that works for all hair types - Afro and kinky, curly and frizzy hair, and especially for children.

The vision of OTJ Naturals (Our Tresses Justified) is to reduce the daily hair struggles we face to a minimum. To do this, it is important to me to listen to and understand people's needs. Because my greatest goal is to make others happy and to share and expand my knowledge. OTJ Naturals uses nature as a source of healing for the body and mind, helping people to be bold and self-confident - BE WHO YOU ARE !!
